A single forum on a mainly Star Wars board, it used to have some
very interesting topics of discussion. For the last little
while though, it's been very quiet.

Tolkien and Inklings Forum at Xenite.org
One of the larger forums on Tolkien, this one also encourages
serious discussion of the other members of the group called
'The Inklings'.
TME II
A good looking messageboard.
Lord of the Rings Fanatics
Part Role-play forums and part serious discussion message forums,
there is some very interesting discussion in these forums.
Very active too. Also several quiz categories, some of which
are very challenging.
I spend a fair amount of time here under the name 'Endaewen'.
The Land of Rohan
This
board is a very active board discussing both the new movies and all of Tolkien's
books. Several of the members of the Land of Rohan post at the the
board included in this site, as do some of the members of this site.
The Council of Elrond Forums
A nice clear messageboard related to both the LOTR movies and Tolkien's books.
